Fourth presentation by Le Caviste and FWRR is Les Chenes from Denis Jamain in Reuilly – situated just 60 kilometers west of Sancerre.
A wine fit for those warm September evenings ![]()
This beautifull offering from winemaker Denis Jamain is made of 100% Pinot noir grapes grown on clay and limestone soils in Reuilly in the Loire Valley. As the name indicates (les Chênes de mon Grand Pere) Mr. Jamain is very proud to use oak from his grandfathers forest. “This is local in its purest form” – Kermit Lynch
The 2009 Reuilly les Chênes offers up notes of fresh cherry with a hint of oak without the oak being overpowering. On the palate the wine is elegant and fresh.
Enjoy this wine chilled around 10 to 14 degrees – as your terrasse wine or with anything from Asian food to light French cooking.
It comes at 12.50 eur per bottle. Orders of min. 12 bottles gets a 10% summer discount when mentioning my blog until the end of September.
